Buhurt Buckler 34cm with Red Leather Edge Guard - Tournament Shield

A professional, uncompromisingly stable Buhurt buckler (fist shield) with a striking red leather edge, specially designed for tough tournament sports and historical full-contact combat (HMB/ISB). Handmade in Germany!

This shield was built by fighters for fighters. It combines maximum agility in close combat with extreme protection for the lead hand.

Construction Features & Hard Facts:

 Shield Core: Made from 8 mm thick, flexible plywood, fully glued with robust linen (canvas) and primed black. This prevents splintering and absorbs the force of axe blows and sword strikes.

 The Umbo (Shield Boss): Machine-pressed from 2 mm uncoated steel (unhardened). The machine stamping process optimally compresses the material – making this umbo significantly more structurally stable and durable than traditionally hand-forged bosses.

 Premium Edge Protection: Solid, 5 mm thick red strap leather. The edge is not only extremely neatly sewn with high-strength cord (twine), but also pierced with steel nails for absolute security against loss.

 Reinforced Handle: The ergonomic wooden handle on the back is reinforced with a solid forged steel inlay (steel plate) to completely prevent the handle from breaking during heavy parries.
